Over 100 people attended 'Unheard Voices of 9/11 Hearing', arranged at the Mountain View Senior Center, on Saturday, August 27.

The program was organized into various panel testimonies. Here you see one set of panelists--from left, writer Wajahat Ali, a Muslim representative (did not get his name), Veena Dubal, Zahra Billoo, Harsimran Kaur and moderator Amardeep Singh.

'Unheard Voices of 9/11 Hearing', a program arranged by several civil rights organizations featured elected officials; victims of profiling, harassment, and discrimination; and civil liberties advocates. Rows after rows of various cacti are what you would find on the roof of Fahim Siddiqui's house. I doubt anyone in Pakistan has a bigger collection of xerophytic plants than Fahim Siddiqui does.

Here is a man I have learned a lot from: Fahim Siddiqui of FND (Fahim, Nanji, and DeSouza) Consulting Engineers. Fahim Siddiqui, or Fahim Sahib, as he known in the HVAC industry of Pakistan, has had his brain power behind many engineering projects in Pakistan, including the cooling and air conditioning systems of Pakistan's earliest nuclear facilities.

London Riots coming to a neighborhood near you

What London riots? They are recession riots. Tea Partiers and others advocating drastic cuts in social welfare programs in this country should be watching the UK riots with educational interest. And we have seen this theme repeating over and over again, all over the world, throughout history. Marginalized people are easily drawn to riots, to revolutions. A group of people that does not have anything to gain from a system, does not have anything to lose from destroying that system.
