Over sixty people braved the storm on Sunday, November 5, to attend the Lick Observatory Star Party--the program was a part of the First Annual Bay Area Science Festival being led by UCSF to educate Bay Area residents on recent advances made in the Sciences.

Dr. Graeme Smith gave a lecture on "Two Views of the Moon", and Dr. Raja Guha Thakurta spoke on "Astronomy and Cosmology (not to be confused with Astrology, Gastronomy and Cosmetology)."

I'm glad you were able to attend. By the end of the night we actually had 120 guests arrive. That was pretty amazing considering the very bad weather conditions on Mt. Hamilton. If any of your blogsters should like info on our public programs they can go to www.ucolick.org and click on "Public" at the top of the page.
